Magical fall

22.10.2018

For me, every season is something very special. But I probably like fall the best. In the annual cycle we come to the west, the mature adult age is at home here. In my medicine wheel, the element of water and the quality of the bear are assigned to the west. The bear is knowledgeable about plants and brings us its powerful medicine: healing is the order of the day! Nature shows us - before it withdraws completely - its gloriously radiant colors. Indian summer invites us on wonderful, magical walks through its realm. The fog that tends to hang in our landscapes at this time of year not only makes the world clearer and smaller, it also allows beings from other worlds to roam through our region. Fog always means magic. After a hike up the mountain, we break through its blanket and view our world through the glittering sunshine from above. This has a very strong symbolic effect on us.

Magical fall

Samhain, All Saints' Day, All Souls' Day:
As autumn arrives, we are slowly approaching death and dying. Nature will soon be completely frozen and almost completely freeze its breath in the deep, cold winter. The contemplative time begins. Everything slows down and becomes quieter. A time of contemplation and silence.

Our indigenous ancestors, the Celts and the Germanic tribes, saw darkness at the beginning of time: "In the beginning was a deep, black maw", according to the "Edda", Norse mythology (Germanic tribes). Out of the darkness, out of infinite space, our world emerges through the coming together of ice (forming) and heat (giving life). As we can see, death, dying and life are very close together. It is an eternal cycle.

The Celts celebrate the beginning of the year, their New Year, with Samhain. In the past, this was actually the new moon in October. Today, this festival has been moved to October 31st. Most of us are probably more familiar with it as "Halloween".

As with many other pagan holidays, it is no coincidence that the Church chose to celebrate All Saints' Day/All Souls' Day on these calendar days. Today, as in the past, we remember our deceased at this time.

A nourishing, healing time:
If we take advantage of the beauty of autumn and manage to engage with the rhythm of nature, we will experience true magic. This quality of pausing and being in peace and quiet has a very invigorating effect on us. The fear of our repressed aspects, which make us restless and restless, will disappear. It will disappear when we recognize ourselves. Looking is reassuring. No one is afraid of themselves. What we carry within us is the memory of events that have already happened. They are the past. Accepting this is also the beginning of letting go and moving on, healing happens.

We can now plant the seeds that will begin to germinate and sprout next spring. Joy of life will sprout. Life energy will return and your attention will turn from the inside out again. You will be truly and genuinely successful and be able to love and accept yourself.

This is real, true magic!
